Gentlemen:
AARP has a membership of 32 million people. they are the biggest,
most powerful lobby in Washington. Their stated mission is to look
after the concerns of older Americans. They have done nothing and have
remained silent re y2k. they have failed their membership. When AARP
speaks, politicians of all stripe tremble.
They cannot plead ignorance because they have assisted the Dept of
Labor in locating retired Cobol programmers. Their silence at this
critical time borders on the criminal.
I urge you to encourage your readers to contact AARP and demand
that they make a pronouncement on this desperate situation. Their
e-mail address is : members@aarp.org.
Thank You: Bill Solorzano
